چکیده
Venoms produced by arthropods act as chemical weapons to paralyze prey or deter competitors. The utilization of venom is an essential feature in the biology and ecology venomous arthropods. Solenopsis fire ants (Hymenoptera: Formicidae) are medically important ants. They have acquired different patterns use maximize their competitive advantages rendered when facing challenges. major components ant piperidine alkaloids, which strong insecticidal antibiotic activities. alkaloids protect from pathogens over course lives can be used defend them predators also utilized some ants’ natural enemies, such phorid flies locate host Collectively, these diverse alkaloid compositions functions ecological significance for survival, successful invasion, rapid range expansion. with powerful biological activities may played role shaping assembly communities both native introduced ranges.

Aplysinopsins - Marine Indole Alkaloids: Chemistry, Bioactivity and Ecological Significance
Aplysinopsins are tryptophan-derived marine natural products isolated from numerous genera of sponges and scleractinian corals, as well as from one sea anemone and one nudibranch. Aplysinopsins are widely distributed in the Pacific, Indonesia, Caribbean, and Mediterranean regions. Up to date, around 30 analogues occurring in Nature have been reported. Natural aplysinopsins differ in the bromina...
متن کاملCyclobutane-Containing Alkaloids: Origin, Synthesis, and Biological Activities
Present review describes research on novel natural cyclobutane-containing alkaloids isolated from terrestrial and marine species. More than 60 biological active compounds have been confirmed to have antimicrobial, antibacterial, antitumor, and other activities. The structures, synthesis, origins, and biological activities of a selection of cyclobutane-containing alkaloids are reviewed. With the...
متن کاملPatterns of venom synthesis and use in the fire ant, Solenopsis invicta.
In the life of the fire ant, Solenopsis invicta, venom plays several important roles, including prey capture, defense, and anti-microbial action. Although this venom's chemistry, pharmacology, and effects on humans have been extensively studied, its patterns of synthesis and use have not. We determined the ability of different-aged workers to synthesize venom, and measured the amount of venom w...
متن کاملNucleotide sequence of cDNA encoding the fire ant venom protein Sol i II.
For the first time the cDNA encoding a fire ant venom protein has been sequenced. Oligonucleotides were designed according to the amino acid sequence. The cDNA sequence was obtained by hybridizing these primers to mRNA and enhancement by the PCR technique. Comparison to the amino acid sequence of the venom protein shows a leader sequence 19 amino acids long.
